Kicking Off the 2021 Boating Season.

This has certainly been a year akin to no other. During this time boating has served as an outlet for many of us to relax, destress, and escape reality for a few hours. Now that the boating season is about to kick off in the Northeast the KellyBoat crew would like to share some tips, tricks, and advice about how to stay safe this season.

1. Get Vaccinated

The best way to protect you and the ones you love from the effects of COVID-19 is to get vaccinated. When all parties are vaccinated, according to the CDC, it is not necessary to observe social distancing or wear masks. Receiving your vaccine is the best way to enjoy the 2021 season worry-free.

2. Continue to Practice Social Distancing

If not vaccinated use social distancing to prevent the spread of COVID-19. However, we understand this is not always possible on a boat. If social distancing is not possible it is best to wear a mask, even if you are outside. However, this is not always ideal on boats. If you choose to not wear a mask it is best to follow CDC guidelines about handwashing and hygiene.

3. Clean, Clean, Clean

COVID-19 germs can linger on surfaces for hours, even days, therefore it is imperative to clean as regularly as possible to stop any transmission through surfaces. Reference our article on COVID-19 Cleaning Tips for information on how to best disinfect the surfaces on your boat. If you choose to use bleach or other traditional disinfectants, be informed how they may affect different common boat surfaces.

4. Enjoy
